Features of Grey goose down Thermal Insulation
LOFT is the ability of insulation to absorb air and expand. The trapped air is the real insulator. "Insulation" is simply a means of trapping air and preventing air flow. The greater the amount of air trapped in the sleeping bag, the warmer the sleeping bag will be because it retains more body heat.
FILL POWER is a measure of the LOFT or expansion capacity of down insulation. It expresses the volume (in cubic inches) by which 30 grams of down expand when air is inhaled. The greater the FILL POWER, the greater the expansion and the warmer the sleeping bag.
Fill volume is a measure of how much the total amount of all down in a particular sleeping bag will expand. The bigger the FILL VOLUME, the warmer the sleeping bag.
Grey goose down Process Flow
The preparation process of grey goose down is complicated, including washing, drying and sorting. Use detergent and anti-allergen washes during the process. Sterility is achieved by drying at temperatures up to 140°C. The purpose of these procedures is to obtain bioneutral raw materials with the desired properties and the highest possible standards.
